February 18th, 2023 - Cash Bash, Elks Lodge, Savoy

May 20th, 2023 - Amtryke Road Rally (invitation only)

Cash Bash Charity Fundraiser Feb. 18th

Ready to win $7,500?  We've got your ticket!

The first GCC AMBUCS fundraiser for 2023 is happening this February at the Champaign-Urbana Elks Lodge in Savoy.  For a mere $100, you can purchase a chance to win a top prize of $7,500!  And, for another $25, you can join us for dinner.  We'll have fun games, great food, drinks, and a chance to meet the hard working people who make this happen.  The funds raised go to our various projects, like Amtryke giveaways, (therapeutic tricycles for children and adults who have disabilities), ramp building for low-income families in Champaign County, scholarships for therapy students at Parkland College, and helping the Urbana Park District maintain AMBUCS Park in east Urbana.

Any AMBUCS member can sell you a ticket or you can contact our Project leader, Don Dunlap at 217-202-3061.  If you can't attend the dinner on the 18th, no problem.  You don't have to be present to win, just have your phone handy and we'll contact you if you are in the last 5 tickets to be drawn.  The holders of the last five tickets or their representative will come up on stage and have the chance to pool the five prize amounts, $200, $500, $700, $1000, and $7500, and split it equally.  But each person also has the option to continue the drawing to win the individual prizes.  The audience will be rooting to continue the drawing, of course!

It's a great evening filled with fun and fellowship!  Get you tickets now! (Flyer PDF)

AMBUCS Begins Year-long Membership Drive

Time to join a great group of people!

The Greater Champaign County AMBUCS is a enjoyable group to join!  We have lots of fun doing all of our projects from giving away Amtrykes, to thanking therapists for all they do with us, to fundraising, to maintaining AMBUCS Park, to shed cleaning!  We're always having a good time giving back to our community.  On September 19th, we'll be hosting our Charity Golf Outing fundraiser at Lake of the Woods in Mahomet. We'll be hosting the Scarecrow Festival in AMBUCS Park, east Urbana, on October 8th.  We meet once a week at Urbana Gardens for fellowship and to plan our events.  We have speakers at these lunch meetings and give away Amtrykes to people in our community!  We would be happy to have you join us at lunch to find out what this group is all about!  Contact any member to join us for lunch!  We'll save a seat for you!  Follow us on Facebook or Twitter to keep up with events.

AMBUCS is a national charitable service organization consisting of a diverse group of men and women dedicated to creating mobility and independence for people with disabilities.  The Greater Champaign County Chapter has been making a difference in Champaign County since 1981.  Our main accomplishments are the 350 ramps we have built for low income families in Champaign County since 1981 and the 300+ AmTrykes we have given away in the last 10 years.  At right is the crew at one of our bike builds.

Please take a look at the many wonderful things we do, and consider becoming a member.  We can always use the help, and we love meeting new people in the community.  If you like, just drop by one of our Tuesday lunch meetings at Urbana Gardens to see what we are all about.  We'll even spring for lunch!

When you're ready to join us just print and fill out this Membership Application and we'll be happy to have you!

February 18th is the date for the 2023 GCC AMBUCS Charity Cash Bash where the top prize is $7,500!  Tickets will be on sale soon in 2023!  Plan on joining us for a fun evening of drinks, good food, and a chance to help our wonderful organization!

Our Chapter built two ramp in 2022.  Unfortunately, due to the large number of requests and the onset of Winter, we will not build any more ramps in the 2022 season.  Please check back in 2023!

Our club gives away therapeutic tricycles, called AmTrykes, to children and adults with disabilities. The process starts with a recommendation from a therapist.  As soon as possible, a trike will be assembled and delivered for the person to enjoy!  Contact Amtryke Ambassador, Scott Price, 217-202-4487, with questions.
